New York City Outdoor Restaurants in Midtown
As the warm weather approaches, you’ll want to be able to sit outside when dining out. New York City has a great selection of restaurants with outdoor seating. When in the Midtown area, there are plenty of options for dining outside in the sunny weather.
Here are my picks for restaurants in New York City’s Midtown with outdoor seating: Midtown East (East of Fifth Avenue)
* El Rio Grande is a moderately priced restaurant that is actually two restaurants in one location. This Tex-Mex and Mexican dual restaurant features nicely priced margaritas as well as an extensive menu of quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos and more. If you are a fan of spicy chicken wings, this is the place to go. They are super spicy here.
* Naples45 is conveniently located near Grand Central Station in the Met Life building. It is an Italian eatery with thin crust pizza, Neapolitan style. In addition to a large variety of pizzas, they feature appetizers to share as well as Italian pasta favorites. It is a somewhat pricey establishment.
* Pampano is an upscale Mexican restaurant serving seafood as its main item. The bright dual-level interior and large patio seating in the front of the restaurant make for a pleasant dining experience. The bar and lounge seating are located on the first level with the main restaurant and outdoor seating on the upper level.
* Bice is a hotspot for corporate business people. The location is off Fifth Avenue making this a centrally located restaurant. Bice is an Italian restaurant with a focus on Northern Italian cuisine.
Midtown West (West of Fifth Avenue)
* Sea Grill in Rockefeller Center is an upscale establishment and is situated on the concourse level where shops and more restaurants are located. During the warmer months, they set up tables and large umbrellas in the skating rink. As its name suggests, seafood is the main theme in the menu. Other food options are available, including steak.
* Rock Center Cafe is directly opposite the Sea Grill and shares the skating rink with them. They also share the same hefty price level. A unique feature is the outdoor bar and bar seating. Crispy Calamari with a delicate aioli sauce is a tasty appetizer. This restaurant serves mainly American cuisine.
These are all lovely restaurants. Reservations are recommended especially in the peak warmer months.
