We might be in need of a quick history lesson. Hernan Cortes was the Conquistador who led the “conquest” of the Aztecs. Writing in 1519 he observed:
“The divine drink builds up resistance and fights fatigue. A cup of this precious drink permits a man to walk for a whole day without food”! Read more
Making Your Chocolate Fountain A Sweet Experience
Chocolate fountains are all the rage at parties these days. But if you are the one hosting the party, it’s important to make sure your wonderful tower of chocolatey decadence doesn’t turn into a sticky crumb-filled mess. By following these tips, you can make sure your guests remember the delightful chocolate treat that you offered, and not the sticky disaster that some chocolate fountains become.
1. If possible, serve the dipping treats super cold, or even frozen. This will help the chocolate harden more quickly and you can avoid some of the drips and dribbles. You easily freeze fresh fruits such as banana chunks, pineapple chunks, whole strawberries and seedless grapes. For a more exotic touch, throw in some chunks of mango or starfruit.
More Than Just a Pain Killer
Yes, dark chocolate is more than just a pain killer. It’s every woman’s refuge after a massive breakup. Aside from its tremendous power to control human emotions, chocolate is one of the main ingredients of natural skin care products and current body treatments.
While many chocolate lovers hinder themselves from eating this sinful treat, there are other ways to maintain the use of chocolate as part of their lifestyle. Other than eating it, one can find chocolate in skin care products such as shampoo, massage oil, body butter, lip balm, and bubble bath.
So how does this passion for dark chocolate skin care come about?
Currently, the myth still prevails that eating chocolate can cause cellulite, added fats, or even bad acne. That can be true, especially if people do not know how to control their guilt pleasure for chocolate consumption. And because having this food for the gods is still an addiction, many companies and skin treatment centers use it for beautifying the skin.
A Guide to Chocolate Fondue Fountains
Do you know what a fondue fountain is? It’s basically an overflowing fountain, just like you would see in the front of someone’s yard, or at a park that flows water up and then down like a circular waterfall, but it flows chocolate instead of water.
They are usually seen at special events such as weddings, nice office parties, graduation parties or any other event that calls for elegance and style beyond what you would find at a normal work party, or simply event.
There are different styles but the basic form stays the same. Many are made of stainless steel which make them a lot easier to clean up and maintain, but some of the more classic styles can be metal.
You can either rent one for your occasion which most people do, or if you are perhaps a party coordinator or have your own catering business, you could spend the money upfront to buy one if you know you will get the use out of it.

Cadbury Tackles Burping Cows
Cadbury is worried about the carbon footprint of its chocolate. I think there are plenty of things to worry about with chocolate but I must admit that the carbon footprint would have been close to the bottom of the list.
Apparently the ‘glass and a half of full cream milk’ is responsible for 60 percent of the total greenhouse gas emissions produced by the construction of a family block of Dairy Milk Chocolate. But don’t worry, Cadbury plan to feed the cows more clover so they burp less and give them less fibre so they … (well, you get the picture). All of this feed manipulation will result in a carbon emission reduction of 50 percent by 2020.
Cadbury have also decided that they should look out for the lactose intolerant among us with a very clear warning. From now on Dairy Milk Chocolate will come with a warning label: “CONTAINS MILK”. I’m so glad they bothered.
Love Limitless But Finances Limited? Give Them Chocolate!
the economy scaring the heck out of everyone, let’s jump on the saving-money-is-cool bandwagon. Gone are the days where you can flippantly spend your cash on DVD players and the coolest new gadget. People aren’t buying like they used to.
Years ago, before PDA’s, Bluetooth, and Ipods, we gave gifts of meaning, not monetary value. In this day’s economy we are finding the need to revert back to that way of gift giving. How many garage sales have I had where gifts I have received end up going out on a table for pennies on the dollar?
Chocolates have tickled the fancy of many-a-love-bird for years! Imagine the love of your life handing you a gift that didn’t set them back a cool hundred but was made especially for you.
